Motion is key, four-square and quick as a wink, but their techno has moments of sombre self-reflection too. Last year saw their debut album None of the Above out on Offen Music, sounds of ‘glory, decay, rebuilding and hope’, and a second record, Purest State Confusion delivered a second dose of warped basslines and mutant frequencies a mere twelve months later. It’s a start, and a promising one, their hybrid inspirations tease out a thread that’s clear in vision and, well, the rest has to heard and felt first hand. Bassiani Podcast 226 is an hour-long recording from their set at the Morevi Records night at Horoom back in April, intoxicating and ritualistic sounds that rise, descend, expand and contract, fluttering tempos and hazy atmospherics that’ll leave you in a trance.
