From Tbilisi to his chosen home of Brooklyn, Nikoloz Gedevanishvili’s sets are deeply enmeshed with his Georgian roots, slick selections that sprint across emotions and genres. He’s been on this mission since his teenage years, and played at the likes of Bassiani, Basement, The Lot and Mutant Radio (he has a show here), pushing a sound that’s highly charged with political energy and community tailored. These dog whistle rhythms are versatile and packed with layers of sound and percussion that snake along their cosmic route, spanning textbook techno, ambient and more experimental fare. Becoming a keystone in both his local Tbilisi and New York scenes, he’s kept sight of the grassroots magic while playing alongside global names like DJ Nobu, Jane Fitz, Wata Igarashi, DMX Krew and Roman Flügel.
